I think that the 6th annual tournamant went off without a hitch. As a board and volunteer group, we certainly have the basics down. Attendance was off just a bit, but our raffle ticket sales were up and the event raised the most money we have to date. Once again, the RJ Memorial Foundation donated money to UNR Boxing (with a formal check presentation in the ring), Sparks High School in support of our scholarship program, and to Crisis Call Center where we made a cash donation to this amazing non-profit organization. All in all, we raised the bar on donations in 2009 and we thank our attendees, friends and families who support the tournament every year for their generosity and donations in what we know was a very bad economic year for so many. We are head-strong planning the 7th annual tournament and may do something a little different for entertainment, but one thing is for sure...whether you play golf every week, or once a year, the RJ Memorial Tournament is a place you can come, tell some stories, laugh and have fun, and honor the legacy of Ricky and Ryan. We hope to see you this year!

Following the 5th annual tournament where we had a the second highest attendance and the largest amount of money raised, the RJ Memorial Foundation was able to donate money to UNR Boxing (which was presented at their season opener at the Eldorado Hotel Casino), Sparks High School where a scholarship program has been developed, and to Crisis Call Center where we made a cash donation to this amazing non-profit organization. All in all, we donated more money in 2008 than in any other year. We hope to be able to maintain this momentum as we head into our 6th year of the tournament. 4th Annual tournament donations were made to both UNR Boxing and Crisis Call Center. Our largest donations to date. 2008 will feature new charities like Sparks High School and others.

The 3rd annual tournament smoother than any other year. Once again we raised thousands of dollars for our support charities - Crisis Call Center and UNR Boxing. Once again we want to thank all who volunteered their time, and for all the individuals and companies who donated money to the cause. Looking forward to the 2007 event!

The 2nd annual tournament was another success. We raised thousands of dollars for the charities we support. We want to give a big THANK YOU to all who volunteered their time, sponsorship dollars, and all those who attended. We are looking forward to an even bigger turnout this year.

In support UNR boxing, The RJ Memorial Board presented the Olivas Foundation/UNR Boxing with a check for $2000. Funds were from the partial proceeds of the 2004 Golf Tournament and were presented by Board Chairman, Jesse Huggins. Also presented at the first event was a memorial trophy given to the fighter whose style and talent best matches that of former National Champion Rick Jackson. An additional donation was made on behalf of the foundation to the Crisis Call Center in 2005. View the Poster >>
